Labor Support
My main role is to provide continuous emotional and physical support for the laboring mother. I encourage the use of comfort measures including breathing, positing, movement, and relaxation. I draw upon nine years of massage experience to offer the mother soothing and supportive touch during her labor. I also act as a liaison between the medical staff and the laboring couple. My duties include but are not limited to: massage, aromatherapy massage, preparing/retrieving towels, assisting father, photographing/video taping, informing the family of progress during the birth process.
Postpartum Support
- Minimum of 2 postpartum visits
- Home cooked meal for you and your partner to celebrate the birth of your baby.
Essential Oils
Incorporating essential oils in labor is a natural way to help with grounding, calming, relaxation, focus, nausea, and pain. I use a variety of essential oils which are therapeutic and food grade. Aromatherapy is a personal choice for the laboring mother. It is up to her preference which oils are used, if at all. With my services I include;
- Diffusion of oils into the room to calm and support the birth team.
- Massage support blend during labor to help with nausea and pain.
- Perineum support blend to help with stretching and healing.
